Great Sphinx Of Giza

sphinx

Sandstone eyes shine into the distance,
A sphinx bemuses the crystal sky,
And as I share with him, this instance,
I wonder what he does, and why.

Far on the horizon, he casts a shadow,
Only he knows what futures hold,
Transfixed through time’s eternal bow,
He sees the sun unfold.

Long, long ago,
He warned of impending doom,
Man did not listen, Man did not know,
That the world would fill with despair and gloom.
